WOMAN’S MISSIONARY UNION
For 135 years, WMU has equipped believers to live their lives in unshakable pursuit — to know God more, to show His love unconditionally, and to make disciples who make disciples. WMU seeks to come alongside the church to accomplish the mission of God. From preschoolers to adults, WMU provides relevant resources to learn about and pray for missions, as well as opportunities to apply their knowledge and passion through giving, serving and supporting missions.
WMU groups in our church are listed below. If you would like to be involved or need more information, email Pam Holbrook at holbrook.pam88@gmail.com or call or text (606) 922-5274.
MISSION FRIENDS: Boys and girls ages 4 through kindergarten are guided in ways to help others and begin to lay a foundation to trust and love God. They meet at 6:45 PM Wednesdays.
CHILDREN ON MISSION: Boys and girls in grades 1-5 learn about missionaries and their work and how they can personally share Jesus. They meet at 6:45 PM Wednesdays.
WOMEN ON MISSION PRISMS: Women 18 and older discover ways God is at work in their lives and how they can be radically involved in God’s mission. Since 2005, the Ramey-Estep Homes have been fertile ground for service, from teen girls in residential treatment to women and men in residential programs for substance abuse. Other Prisms activities over the years include service at Hillcrest-Bruce Mission and Hope’s Place.
ADULTS ON MISSION: Men and women in at least two Bible Fellowship classes are working together to champion the cause of Christ in our community. They emphasize prayer for missional efforts and have served at such places as Morning Pointe, the Salvation Army, the Seed and Feed ministry and local nursing homes.
Your established group can be on mission, too! Contact Pam for tips to get started. God bless you as you spread the hope and love of Christ in our community.
