CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST 2024
Christmas in August is a Southern Baptist summertime tradition to benefit missionaries, agencies and the people they serve in the name of Jesus Christ.

WE NEED YOU: This year we will shower gifts on Qusai Mahmud, a North American Mission Board missionary who serves at the Chicago Ministry Center, a Send Relief ministry site in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. Most residents live at or below the poverty line. Many homes are without fathers and the resources to provide proper food, clothing and shelter. The city has experienced an influx of migrants and refugees from all over the world, many of whom have nothing but the clothes on their backs. This fall, the Chicago Ministry Center will host many distributions to serve its neighborhood and the city at large to meet needs and share the good news about Jesus!

HOW TO HELP:

• There is a decorated tree near the gym. Please place WISH LIST ITEMS under the tree or in the box.

• Put cash or checks in an envelope marked for Christmas in August in the offering plate or take to the church office. Checks should be payable to FBC Russell because one check will be mailed to the missionary when the campaign is over at the end of August.

• Toothpaste and toothbrushes
• Deodorant
• Winter gloves and hats
• Yellow No. 2 pencils
• 24-count crayons
• Colored pencils
• Children’s scissors
• Glue sticks
• Construction paper, all colors, including white
• Loose-leaf filler paper
• Small staplers/staples
• Clear tape
